Lorena hails from Kelowna, British Columbia. She studied Hairstyling at Vancouver Community College, then went on to study Fine arts at Okanagan University College. She has gone on to become one of Canada’s more renowned artists. She is the former Senior Artistic Director and trainer at UNITE Hair, a former Architects of Design team member/ Training manager at Alfaparf Milano, and a former artistic team member at Aloxxi International. She currently resides in Windsor and is the owner of ONE hair salon.

Lori Lorimer received her degree in English from the University of Windsor and soon realized her double minor in psychology and sociology had turned her into an inveterate people-watcher and deepened her understanding of human motivation and behavior. These insights informed her writing as she raised three children and two small businesses. Today she lives deliciously alone in Windsor, Ontario where she is involved in critique groups and works on her second novel as she sends query letters to over-worked agents and works as a substitute teacher.

TINA LYONS-HAGEN: (1 year)

Tina Lyons-Hagen is a transplant to Windsor, having been born and raised in the Ottawa Valley.

She has a degree in English Literature and Women’s Studies, as well as a diploma in Addictions Counselling.  Tina is the manager of Biblioasis Bookshop in Windsor’s historic Walkerville district. She has worn many hats in her past places of employment including working for Emergency Services as a 911 operator, Coordination of a Rape Crisis Centre, and Owner/ Operator of a bar and live music venue. She loves event planning, encouraging people to discover & celebrate their gifts, crafting dollhouses and miniatures, theatre, and books!  Tina lives in Riverside with her teenage son & daughter, her husband of 20+ years, and her 180 lb English Mastiff, Moose.

John began his professional writing career working in the TV industry before embarking on a 25+ year career as a licensed Private Investigator. He’s co-owned an award-winning independent bookstore, reviewed books for CBC Radio, and written several novels and interactive plays. He’s best known for
his two separate mystery series featuring intrepid P.I. Steve Cassidy and feisty newspaper reporter Jennifer Malone. With his realistic characters, intriguing plotlines, sense of humour, and a gift for storytelling, Schlarbaum has become one of the area’s top novelists.

Created one of a kind fundraising platforms such as the St. Clair college Christmas Cd that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for numerous
charities 10 years later is still a viable footprint of her work. She is a contributing writer to international BizX Magazine as a featured columnist called “Sound Advice” Lori holds a certificate in Adjudication from York University and St. Clair College Convergence Media and The Detroit Institute of Music Education in Management. With over 15 years in Radio and communications she also has sat on a number of Boards of Directs & committees. In addition to her extensive PR and marketing experience, Lori also is an award-winning leader receiving a Nominations for Power House Professional BizX magazine and the Women’s Executive Alliance Leadership award.

Kimberly Love: (1 year)

Radio host on Crushing 40 on Impact Radio USA and author of You Taste Like Whiskey and Sunshine as well as a resiliency and empowerment coach for women. Her radio show with 22,000 plus daily listeners showcases celebrities, coaches, and entrepreneurs who are an inspiration to women. Crushing 40 is about empowerment and helps women to learn to have fun and to go past fear to discover the life that they have always dreamed of.

MARCIA MILNE: (1 year)

Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology

WINDSOR, ON

The former Lancer standout was a member of the 1995 and 1996 CIS Championship teams where she won four medals, including two golds in the 4×400 relay in 1995 and 4×200 relay in 1996. While completing her PhD at the University of Western Ontario, Marcia worked as a sport psychology consultant for both the track and field teams as well as the women’s hockey team. She also ran one of the best bakeries in Windsor and was a former winner in The cake competition on the food channel! She is also a fully certified massage therapist, having graduated from Kikkawa College in 2000 and has worked as a therapist for York, Western and the Canadian National Basketball program. Marica has also coached in the past with the Windsor Legion Track and Field team from 1996-1998 and is Level 1 certified. She is deeply concerned with our children’s skills in writing and is one of our strongest advocates.
