We want you to succeed. We are every writer’s champion. We have something for attendees just learning how to start writing a book or finishing that book. Whether you’re going for the traditional route of the big name publishers, placing with an independent house, going hybrid, self-publishing, or choosing e-book-only distribution we will try to have as much information as we can muster to help you on your way. Windsor International Writers Welcomes You!

Dear writers of all stages, authors, editors, agents, publishers, and interested parties, welcome to our new website! Please don’t be shy, we encourage you to have a look around and to contact us if you have any questions that need answers. For those of you who are familiar with who we are and what we do, welcome back, and for those of you who are new, thanks so much for coming to learn what we are all about.

Windsor International Writers is a non-profit organization dedicated to the literary arts, specifically writing, although we do incorporate several of the arts in our programming — music, painting, and acting to name a few. We are located in Windsor, Ontario, across the river from Detroit Michigan and although we love our city, we consider ourselves an international organization because we cater to writers from all over the world. Our conference has welcomed guests from France, Israel, Spain, India, Mexico and several people from the United States.

What exactly do we do? Well, if you’ve attended one in the past, or if you’re local to us, you may already be familiar with some of the events and workshops we offer. We’ve been in operation since 2014, offering writing workshops, literary events, and networking opportunities for writers at all stages of their careers. We also offer children’s’ writing programs in the form of our Young Authors’ Summer Camps and the I Want to be a Writer sessions during school year. And in addition to all of these wonderful events, we host the Windsor International Writers Conference every two years, the next one coming up this summer, July 10-12th, 2020 right here in Windsor, Ontario.

If you’re interested in attending the upcoming conference, please click here to register. It really is the best way to further your writing career by making the connections you need to move forward, whether you are a beginner or already a pro. We are considered one of the best boutique conferences in North America and unique because we tackle the tough topics and pay attention to morals and ethics in writing and cater to diverse voices.

Once you’ve registered, or even if you won’t be able to attend, keep in mind that there are a number of ways that you can get involved. We have an impressive list of agents, editors, and publishers already attending our conference, but if you are a professional in the literary field and would like to lend your expertise, please get in touch with us. That being said, we are also always looking for sponsors to help us fulfill our mandate. If you would like to sponsor some aspect of the conference, please reach out and let us know. And lastly, you can always opt to be a member of Windsor International Writers and gain access to our network of writers and literary professionals while being kept informed of all of our writing-related workshops and events.
