“For all of us who lived in Paris; we will never forget it because Paris is a movable feast”
Ernest Hemingway “There is never any ending to Paris and the memory of each person who has lived in it differs from that of any other. We always returned to it no matter who we were or how it was changed or with what difficulties, or ease, it could be reached. Paris was always worth it and you received return for whatever you brought to it.” Nostalgia is denial – denial of the painful present… the name for this denial is golden age thinking – the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one’s living in – it’s a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present.
